When you create a training module in Digiforma within a training session and you're ready to specify its dates, there are two possibilities:

  • A range of dates

  • A set of individual, fixed dates

This article explains in detail how these two types of dates work and the impact they have on training sessions.

📆 A Range of Dates

When is this appropriate?

The range or interval of dates over a period of time is very useful when you're organising training sessions without precise dates.

It could be, for example, an asynchronous session (in eLearning, for example) in which students can connect whenever they want during a previously defined period of time.

You can also use it if you have not yet scheduled the training dates with your clients. Choosing this option would allow you to set the specific dates later on.

How to use this feature

To apply this option, click the arrow to the left of the "Enter only one interval" section:

Below you can indicate:

  • The duration of the module

  • For how many days does it develop?

  • Start and end dates

  • The average duration

After entering this information, you will have to choose the method of calculating student attendance:

  • The manual reporting of completed times allows you to manually record the attendance of each of your learners for each module.

  • The registration of connections to eLearning sequences allows you to obtain an automatic record of students' connections to their Training Portal and to follow their connection activity. We recommend that you check this option when your students have to carry out eLearning sequences in Digiforma.

🚨 Please note: the registration of eLearning connections does not work retroactively. Please choose the appropriate attendance recording method carefully before the training begins.

📆 Fixed dates

When is this appropriate?

In all your training sessions where you know the precise dates and times. Also for face-to-face sessions.

How to use this feature

You have two options:

  • If you only add one training day to the module, select the day on the calendar and choose the time on the right: morning, afternoon, or both.

  • If the training takes place over several days in a row, you can select several at a time by holding down the mouse:

  • If the training is carried out for several days but not in a row, you must select the days one by one, adding the schedules to each one, as many times as the days you want to add:

🚨 Please note: be careful when adding schedules. You should not add two hours in the morning or two hours in the afternoon, as this will have a direct impact on the attendance record: Only one time slot will appear in the morning and another in the afternoon, never two.

How can I define the room or classroom for a session or module?

For each time you can add a place. To do this, the available rooms or places must be previously registered in your Digiforma database ( Data tab > Training places ).

How can I assign a teacher to a class?

In order to assign teachers to each class, you must have previously assigned them to the session, from the Program/ teachers tab:

You will then have the possibility of associating the trainers present with the classes for which they are responsible:

How to delete a class?

Finally, you can delete a class from a module by clicking "remove this class:"

Don't forget to always save after each change! 😉
