The "virtual classroom" feature allows you to organize videoconferences with your learners in Digiforma. This activity is very flexible and allows you to use Digiforma's internal videoconferencing tool, or to use an external tool of your choice.
What is the "Virtual Classroom" feature in Digiforma?
The virtual classroom is an activity available when creating eLearning sequences within a session.
To access it, you must first add a sequence within an eLearning course on Digiforma:
👉Go to the "Learners' Portal" menu of your training session
👉 Then click on eLearning in the navigation bar
👉 Then click on new eLearning sequence (or open the sequence of your choice)
→ You then have 2 possibilities:
1️⃣ Activate the meeting room linked to the reception of the eLearning sequence:
This allows you to create a virtual classroom that is permanently accessible to your learners on their Learners' Portal, within this sequence.
A virtual classroom is a bit like a physical meeting room, except that it's used remotely: Just go to the link to get in touch with the other people who are already connected.
2️⃣ Schedule a "Virtual Class" activity for a future date:
You can also add the virtual class as a sequence of educational activities within your eLearning course.
You will need to choose a date and time for the appointment, which will allow you to send an automatic reminder to learners. Access to this videoconference will be possible from the session Learners' Portal.
How do I set up my virtual classroom in Digiforma?
It is then possible to choose:
Another type of videoconferencing tool that you're already using (Zoom, Teams for example): You can load a connection link to this tool in Digiforma.
Or the video room that is available as an add-on in Digiforma. At this point, check the box "Use the virtual classroom tool with Digiforma." This will create a link on the Learners' Portal with our videoconferencing tool that will allow you to host up to 15 people.
Learners will then just have to go to the Digiforma video conference link to access it!
Here is the overview that learners will have on the session Learners' Portal:
⏰ It is possible to set email reminders for 1 hour or 1 day before, which will send the login link by email to the recipients. Here is an example:
💡 The addition of the virtual classroom activity is included in the basic eLearning feature.
